Human Resources Manager


CEVA Logistics is currently seeking a Human Resources Field Manager located in Ontario, CA. The ideal candidate will possess the following:

The Human Resources Manager is a true business partner at CEVA.  This position will work with the leaders of the Region to fulfill business objectives through the Human Resource "lens".  In addition, the HRM oversees all aspects of Human Resources Management for the assigned business unit(s) including policies and procedures, recruitment, hiring, compensation, labor law compliance, and employee relations. Serves as contact for employees and answers questions regarding HR policies and procedures.  This position is responsible for multiple sites.



  • Partners with business leaders to evaluate current business challenges; develops and executes strategy to address key issues as they relate to HR.
  • Analyzes collective bargaining agreement to develop interpretation of intent, spirit, and terms of contract; Advises management and labor/union officials in development, application, and interpretation of labor relations policies and practices; Researches and responds to all grievances.
  • Oversees the performance management evaluation process; advises managers in the area of performance management as an ongoing process.
  • Ensures consistency and compliance of all hiring procedures to corporate policies & procedures; ensures all required documentation is complete and forwarded to the proper destination.
  • Implements all applicable corporate policies and ensures compliance.
  • Reviews turnover and administers appropriate plans to implement changes.
  • Develops and administers an effective recruitment program, interviews personnel for available positions and provides guidance to management on the interview and new hire process.
  • Conducts trainings for staff as needed.
  • Maintains HR records for the business unit.
  • Facilitates benefits process for new hires and during open enrollment.
  • Facilitates recognition programs.
  • Partners with Safety, Risk and Operations on handling workers compensation claims and works with site leadership and third-party vendor on leave of absence management.
  • Oversees the performance management evaluation process; advises managers in the area of performance management as an ongoing process.
  • Completes other projects as assigned by the Director Human Resources 
  • Travel to support new business start-ups as needed.



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Management, Business, or equivalent is required. 
  • At least five (5) years Human Resources Management experience is required with at least three (3) years in a union environment.
  • Master's Degree in Human Resources, Management, Business, or equivalent is preferred; Human Resources certification preferred
  • Previous experience in Manufacturing or Logistics industry is preferred 
  • Experience with new account start-ups
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees.
  • Spanish speaking skills desired but not required 
  • Knowledge of Human Resources Management including legal/regulatory compliance, current theories, and practices; and up-to-date knowledge of all federal, state, and local laws governing human resources is required.
  • Must have the ability to change the thinking of or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations.
  • A high degree of flexibility to meet multiple/changing priorities and business demands.
  • Ability to manage multiple business units in multiple locations.
  • Must be skilled at communicating effectively with employees, management and business community and must have the ability to make formal presentations to all groups of employees.
  • Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize in demanding environments with tight deadlines
  • This role may require up to 25% travel
