Business Development Leader, NORTAM - Houston, Texas

CEVA Logistics is currently hiring a Head of Business Development located in Houston, Texas. The Head of Business Development has overall responsibility within the region to drive strategic direction, provide leadership for growth and support the retention program for existing business and will be fully responsible to deliver the agreed budgeted growth for the Region meeting all targets set.


The Head of Business Development ensures collaboration of BD functions across the region- geography, sector and support functions- and for ensuring BD collaborates effectively with other functions and with BD globally. Instrumental in building senior customer relationships (C-Level) across the region. Responsible for building organizational capability throughout all BD functions in the region and aligning structure across all countries.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Fully responsible to drive the strategic direction for growth within the Region. The key product is a defined and approved BD strategy for the region identifying the way we approach new business / retention, sectors we want to focus on.
  • Fully responsible for delivering the annual new business target by sector, country, and account, including major renewal projects and strategic deals & carve-outs.
  • Directly manage the regional central BD&KAM function through Sector heads, Support, indirectly control and coordinate all regional BD resources be accountable for the efficiency of BD through driving the RODI metric.
  • Effective collaboration and participation in the Regional Board of Directors & Global BD Board.
  • Manage to ensure that the Central BD function is properly staffed with the adequate skills and competencies to deliver the business needs and growth for the Region.
  • Responsible for talent management and succession planning in the BD function.
  • Effectively implement and support the group BD strategy and strategic growth critical plays across the Region.
  • Responsible for the big deal type ventures from the centre to achieve growth such as carve-outs, global campaigns etc.
  • Responsible for successful collaboration of BD functions across the Regions and for effective collaboration with other Global BD counterparts. Drive the BD Regional Board and leverage customer portfolio across the region.
  • Support strategically & operationally the Sub Regional BD resources and leadership with key related activities; who do people go to with new ventures and customers.
  • Be the Regional conduit for the globe and BD leadership regarding best practice and other key BD activities and initiatives.
  • Drive and build key customer relationships in region. Assume personal responsibility for an appropriate group of senior account relationships.


  • Business / engineering degree
  • Min 10 years at senior leadership level
