Supply Chain Accounting Supervisor - Houston, TX

JOB SUMMARY:

CEVA Logistics is currently hiring a Supply Chain Accounting Supervisor located in Houston, TX responsible for supervising daily accounting operations to ensure accurate and efficient processing of transactions, and compliance with company policies and procedures, Sarbanes Oxley guidelines and other regulatory requirements. 

 

In this role, the Supply Chain Accounting Supervisor will:

  • Work with critical vendors and airlines to coordinate and resolve issues related to vendor invoices
  • Identify, define and address root causes for invoice issues and incorrect ratings
  • Work with vendors, Service Center and stations to develop and implement new process improvements

 

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Supervise daily accounting operations to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, Sarbanes Oxley guidelines and other regulatory requirements.
  • Identify, propose and implement process improvements in current policies and procedures to expedite workflow.
  • Work with vendors to resolve accounting problems and any station invoice issues. 
  • Act as the liaison between the department and IT on accounting system issues and improvements.
  • Assist with financial planning including budgets and forecasts.
  • Delegate and monitor work assignments to accounting support staff to ensure timely and accurate processing.
  • Train and advise staff on routine accounting matters, special projects, general accounting procedures and company policies.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or GED required with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
  • Minimum four years related experience required.
  • Minimum one year Big 4 Accounting Firm preferred.
  • Minimum two to three years industry experience preferred.
  • Minimum one to two years supervisory or lead experience required. 
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently and possess the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, senior management, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • PC literate with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel, internet, web-based and job specific software applications including Finance Vision (Oracle).
  • In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Experience with vendor reconciliation processes
  • Knowledgeable of Sarbanes Oxley and SEC reporting requirements.
  • Demonstrated success in leading, supervising and motivating high performance teams.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and develop appropriate solutions.
  • Ability to plan work for one's self and others to ensure that work is completed efficiently.
  • Effectively participates in and /or supervises department projects related to assigned area of responsibilities.
  • Maintain stable performance under pressure or opposition; handling stress in a manner that is acceptable to others and the organization.
  • Use appropriate methods and a flexible interpersonal style to help build a cohesive team and facilitate the completion of team goals.
